Giggs to produce 1000th Manchester United appearance against Real Madrid - Yahoo! Sports

After sleeping Giggs for the comfortable 4-0 win over Norwich on Saturday, Ferguson unmasked that the Welshman may achieve his impending landmark in midweek. And the Scot explained that he felt the overall game against Jose Mourinho's part would be a appropriate occasion to do so. "[Giggs] will be engaged on Tuesday. We couldnat miss that time for the lad. He warrants it," he told MUTV. Former United midfielder Ray Wilkins was also willing to lavish praise upon the 39-year-old, as a "credit" to baseball describing him. "He is up there with everyone in the club's history, you can not play 1000 games until you're the company, there's no two ways about any of it, Ryan over his job has been totally outstanding," he told reporters. Wilkins added, "He still has that same attitude, that same passion for the game and it's just wonderful to look at him play. I believe the guy has been a credit to the baseball, I really do. To stay at a like Manchester United for that time frame is simply incredible." Follow GOAL.COM on Twitter
