Jonas Olsson hints he will stay at West Brom - expressandstar.com

The 30-year-old defender was once more put on the spot about his future plans amid persistent reports that he wants to settle permanently at his family's London base.

Asked if he would be at the club next season Olsson, who signed a new contract last summer, said:  "I think so, yes.

"I made it quite clear in October that I feel for the club and I'm happy here. I've got another three years on my contract so that is definitely the plan.

"It's always important to have dreams you want to achieve and I said in the past at some point in my career I would like to play for a London club.

"I wouldn't have signed in October if I thought different," he said. "I think that's a statement when you sign a four-year contract.

"A player not happy with his situation or where the team is going, would not have signed a four-year deal. We have a good model which has worked fine the last four years.

"It's up to the board to see what they can do to push the club even further, whether that be spending more money, I don't know. It's for them to decide."

Meanwhile, head coach Steve Clarke admits Albion's future plans are already in gear – but this season won't be sacrificed as a result.

"Next season is always in your thoughts and you're always looking, watching games and players and thinking 'it would be good if we could get him'.

"But it's important we don't forget this season is not over yet. I wanted a cup run and we didn't get that, and I want 50 points and if I don't get that, I'll be disappointed."

West Brom produced a rousing finale which drew an appreciative ovation from their fans. Now they must do the same for their season.

Albion have only themselves to blame for failing to pull this Premier League clash out of the fire after conceding a two-goal deficit to Arsenal.
