I obtained an email from Bryan Thornbury, students android designer who asked me to give some information regarding his free Android GPS golf app. It works together Google Maps and your phoneas GPS to determine distances. He says that it gives great accuracy: That application is definitely an extremely user friendly (and free) selection finder on any Android Smartphone. The accuracy is comparable with extremely expensive range finders. I personally compared it to my friendas $500 laser range finder on the course. Measuring to the flag, the app showed the same distance whilst the range finder. I have no method of testing it (Iave got an BlackBerry), but it is worth a take to, if you've an Android telephone, for the purchase price.
