Tom Eaves, on mortgage to Shrewsbury Town from Bolton Wanderers, continued his exemplary rating work for Salop as his team took on Crawley Town in League One activity. Shrewsbury continue to be struggling for League One emergency and Tom Eaves is doing his better to support the cause. The first half was a scoreless affair in which Eaves was maintained mostly quiet by the Crawley Town safety that highlighted former Bolton Wanderers child Mark Connolly. The discovery would come for Eaves on the 48 minute level. Eaves collected the ball on the edge of the penalty spot and fabulous home, hitting the top left corner of the ball. Somewhat less than 20 minutes later, Tom Eaves could double up. This time around, it was a great solo work for the 21-year-old that saw him overcome a number of Crawley defenders before slotting house from the place. Eaves' third and final goal of the afternoon came five minutes from time, again from the surface of the area, but this time finding the other top corner. The goals sets Eaves' full return for Shrewsbury Town at six goals in nine games. Five of the objectives came in the space of the last four games. His loan will operate to the end of the growing season. The win against Crawley Town moved Shrewsbury Town a huge eight things away from the drop zone.
