There's a new Butterfield in town, and that one includes a a bit more experience under his belt. Danny Butterfield (who has no relation to Jacob Butterfield so far as I could tell) has joined Bolton on loan until May 4th (end of regular season) from Southampton. That Butterfield is 33 years old, and represents primarily as a right straight back, although he is able to also be deployed in the midfield, sometimes in the heart or on the right. Bolton declared the deal right before the loan window shut today, The opponent has played for merely a number of clubs in his 16 year-long career, getting started with 5 periods at Grimsby Town, a team appearances were made 147 by him for. Seasons were then spent 8 by him with Crystal Palace, making 269 looks for them. Funnily enough, his time at Palace overlapped with Dougie's enjoying time, and Butterfield's record for the club's fastest ever hat-trick really beat Freedman's. After having a brief mortgage stint at Charlton Athletic, Butterfield signed for Southampton this year. In his first 2 seasons for the Saints, he made 52 shows for the Saints, but was struck with both injury and exercise issues, and has not played since last year. While Bolton do require a back of known quality, I'm not sure of the wisdom of signing an aging person who hasn't performed properly in over annually, particularly when the club seeks to push for promotion. We shall see.
