Sink or swim: After draw with Fulham, Aston Villa star N'Zogbia would happily ... - Mirror.co.uk

Relegation scramble still on after draw with Fulham – and former Latic Charles says it'll be dog eat dog right to the wire

Charles N'Zogbia insists he will have no hesitation relegating his old club Wigan as Aston Villa shape up for a titanic final-day clash.

With a trip to Manchester United next, Villa's fate is likely to be on the line when they travel to fellow strugglers Wigan on the last day.

Asked how he would feel if it was his goal that condemned the Latics to the drop, he said: "I play for Villa now, I hope we can stay up and we'll do all we can to do that.

The 26-year-old is a veteran of relegation battles having played for Wigan from 2009-2011 before his £9.5million switch to Villa.

He scored 10 goals in his last year at the Latics, including five in the last six games as Wigan stayed up on the final day at Stoke.

The Frenchman advised: "You just have to stay calm and play your game. Be confident in yourself and don't be scared of thinking about relegation.

Fulham striker Dimitar Berbatov, who cut a typically moody and frustrated figure, spurned the clearest opportunity when he hit a post after being put clear.

But the Londoners levelled 11 minutes later when Delph glanced Bryan Ruiz's dangerous inswinging corner into his own net.

Villa's players looked dismayed at the final whistle with their failure to pocket all the points. Their next game is at champions elect United.

But boss Paul Lambert insisted: "We're the form team at the moment and the good thing is we're going into games playing well.

"What's happened now is we've brought teams into it who haven't been there. All of a sudden, it's not certain what's going to happen."
