Manchester City vs. Wigan Athletic: Preview and TV schedule ...

Manchester City's title hopes may be all but over, but they will still be stern opposition for relegation battlers Wigan Athletic in a meeting of the two sides that will contest the FA Cup Final.

Manchester City' may have little left to play for in the Premier League, but they will want to keep going regardless until their rivals Manchester United have mathematically secured the title - which is bad news for Wigan Athletic, as the two teams meet in what will be more than just a dress rehearsal for the FA Cup final..

Wigan are in a decent position to escape relegation, but only if they can win their games in hand - easier said than done when they're against the likes of City at the Etihad Stadium. The Latics are currently in the relegation zone and may also suffer from the dreaded effect of players not wishing to get injured ahead of their upcoming final.

The form of the likes of Shaun Maloney, James McCarthy and Arouna Kone will give the Latics hope, but City will still be heavy favourites to win. Nonetheless, Wigan have history for causing a few upsets around this time of year - and they'll need to go it again to keep themselves safe.

Out: Albert Crusat (knee), Fraser Fyvie, Ryo Miyaichi (anle), Mike Pollitt (thigh), Ivan Ramis (knee). In doubt: Ben Watson (fitness)

Manchester City could see Maicon and Silva return from injury - the former has been absent for some time while the latter was injured in the Citizens' victory over United earlier in the month.

Wigan have no new injuries to add to their long-term list of absentees, and indeed Ben Watson could make his return after a lengthy lay-off.
