NCAA Lacrosse: Syracuse Requires Down Villanova 13-9 in Major East Tourney Final

Villanova entered Saturday's Big East Conference Championship at 7-7, meaning a win was the only way the Wildcats could be entitled to the NCAA Tournament. The tournament was hosted by villanova having a exceptional league history, while they happened within their out-of-conference matchups. Unfortunately for 'Nova, the Syracuse Orange were their opponents in the ultimate. Syracuse has been on a split. They are playing good lacrosse on both ends of the subject, with goalie Dominic Lamolinara becoming a power in the cage. Goalie play has been irregular for the Orange for recent years. In 2012, they ran a two-goalie system, for the most part, but have caught with Lamolinara in 2013. He made seven preserves against Villanova Saturday, lots of which came in moments to stop a late Villanova run. Kevin Rice lead the way for the Syracuse offense, adding three assists and score two goals. Scott Loy also came up big for the Orange, scoring a trick as his group won the league crown. Syracuse surely could make the most of a great team efficiency at the faceoff X to gain possession and keep the ball from a skilled Villanova assault. Both Syracuse and Villanova are great off-ball groups, and Syracuse showed this by driving moves to the crease on many items. Though Villanova won't make the NCAA Tournament because losing history, the Wildcats must be pleased with their Big East performance this year. The regular-season championship was won by the Wildcats after beginning the year at 2-6 and being considered an afterthought in the meeting. They certainly were outstanding in benefits over Delaware, Syracuse and St. John's, while their out-of-conference failures included famous brands Princeton, Penn, Maryland and Lehigh. With such a difficult schedule, there is obviously a big adjustment time because of this VIllanova staff early in the entire year. After playing hard against the nation's elite, the Wildcats made good corrections and found themselves having an chance for a tournament bet. Unfortunately, Syracuse is merely too good at this time. Syracuse will most likely be towards the utmost effective of theAbrackets that will be exposed tonight. With this said, such an unknown year in school lacrosse, no first-round matchup will be a wind. You will have several elite groups missing postseason play due to upsets in meeting title games. This selection Sunday is likely to be unlike every other in history, therefore get the selection present at 9 p.m. on ESPNU Sunday evening.
