NLL: Colorado Mammoth's John Grant Jr. Has Some Skillz

It will come as no surprise that John Grant Jr. of the Colorado Mammoth is a talented lacrosse player. In 2012 he broke the single-season scoring file in the NLL when he recorded a tremendous 116 things for the Mammoth. He is a part of the 500 target club and the 1,000 position club. After being drafted by the Rochester Knighthawks, he was Rookie of the Entire Year in 2,000 and has since picked up two MVP awards, in 2012 and 2007 (one each in Rochester and Colorado). He's been named to the All-Pro First Team six times and the Second Team on two other instances. That is not even counting all of the awards he has been granted while spending his summers playing outdoors in the MLL, including two MVP awards. This year, Grant Jr. moved in to third place overall in all-time score, moving the celebrated Gary Gait. He finished 2nd in the league in goals with 43, fifth in factors with 91 and tied for the lead in electricity play goals with 15. His initiatives this year, including ten hat tricks, a sock key and an night, were enough to cause the Mammoth to a playoff position, in spite of some unstable goaltending early in the year. To sum it up, John Grant Jr. is pretty good. Therefore it must also come as no surprise that this Hall of Famer could place a lacrosse ball virtually whenever he wants, wherever he wants. Grant Jr. Has started making regular contributions to the Colorado Mammoth's YouTube site, setting up short videos of himself performing trick shots. Some are very great, like hitting a balloon going swimming the stands in the Pepsi Center, and some show off his energy, like him blowing apart a couple of watermelons. And some, in a series called Four Shots, are simply ordinary awe-inspiring. In the line Grant Jr. Encircles to various interesting locationsa'the Pepsi Center, Coors Field, a Mexican restauranta'and essentially just shows off. MLB Hall of Fame pitcher Dizzy Dean once said "It ain't braggin' if you're able to do it." Well, John Grant Jr. Can perform it. And then some. Get Grant Jr. and his Colorado Mammoth teammates on Saturday once they visit the Calgary Roughnecks in the first round of the NLL playoffs. Follow me on Twitter @calgaryjimbo
